Southampton airport is just four miles from Southampton and easily accessible from the M27 and M3 motorways. The airport site was aquired in 1917 to build an Aircraft Acceptance Park and then in 1932 Southampton Corporation purchased Atlantic Park and the airfield became Southampton Municipal Airport. Today over 1 million passengers fly from Southampton to over 30 destinations every year.
