Blackpool Airport is located in the county of Lancashire, north England. The airport is just 5 miles from Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and the famous Blackpool Tower and Promenade. The first flight out of Blackpool airport was in 1909, and the UK's first major airshow was held here during the same year. In 2003 the airport saw 187,000 pass through its gates, and had some 11,000 aircraft movements.
